I finally got to visit the village of my ancestors. I was left peaceful and satisfied at the beauty, the people, the churches, shops, the food, restaurants, our B&B, the views, cleanliness and of course the square. Atri, forever in my heart!

Small historic town on Abruzzo hills, where past and present are combined in a perfect mix. The most important thing in Atri is the main square where the theater and church meet creating a unique and romantic place. The Church, Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta...More

We visited this beautiful town on a sunny afternoon in September. We parked in the square outside the information office and were given a very helpful map. The town is relatively small and so we could walk to all the attractions, mostly churches, with ease....More

The Cathedral in Piazza Duomo is worth a visit. Stop for an aperitif in one of bars in the square. Take a walk along Corso Elio Adriano with its shops and characteristic streets. There are fabulous views from the panoramic road of Viale delle Clarisse.

Atri is a lovely little place. We've visited it twice. On the first occasion we had a wonderful meal in a restaurant in the square then a gelato in a bar just off the square. The second time we had a drink and an ice...More
