The lagoon was very nice - we did not go out into it with a boat as the water was very choppy the day we we visited so the boat men did not come to the jetties located at the entrance of the lagoon. Great for sunsets - we saw quite a few people arrive with professional photographers to take... More

Drive out of the city and go into the National Park of the Albufera, where water springs out and forms a lagoon, keeping the sweet water for ducks and herons so they can keep their hideouts during the spring and summer. See the water flow along the river until it finally reaches the ocean. Watch the fish jump out, as... More

I went to parque natural de la Albufera just after sunset, the scenario was just beautiful, calm and relaxing! You could see from far the lights of valencia, walking through natural ponds and also see the moon reflected in the lagoon was certantly worth the visit...loved it!!!

We avoided using the tourist bus and did this by public transport. The local bus number 25 to El Parma cost 1.5 euros each way. The journey took about 45 mins. El Parma is a small town on the lake. Boat rips go out onto the shallow lake costing 4 euros per person. Great value when you consider you are... More

We visited Albufera in April. Took the bus which dropped us at the forking where we could proceed to El Palmar on foot. The road is only intended for cars. Pedestrians risk their lives both along the stretch leading to the Information Centre as well as beyond. The road is also hazardous for cyclists. We met visitors who were walking... More

A boat ride on the lake is well worth the 4 euros it cost. I've done it twice and both times were a relaxing way to spend 30 minutes watching birds seeing the fisherman at work.
