There are no words to describe. It’s Amazing, beautiful, colourful, lovely and spectacular.
At the entrance you can see a map with different routes (different distances) marked, so you can choose which one to do. The staff explains and gives all the necessary indications for each route. All the routes are well marked and it’s easy to follow.
Awesome place for beautiful pictures if you are a trigger free.

We parked near the reservoir and were told there are two walks, a 5 km and a 10km one. The 10 km one goes around the reservoir and the 5 km goes uphill after about 2 kms and doubles back on itself but at a different height. We enjoyed the walk, great array of colours and natural scenery.

You can walk along the top of the dam and the children found the lock and lock gates interesting, things they had learnt about at school.

We didnt have time for more but there are many other routes through this ‘jungle’ thst must be spectacular in autumn.

On our way out we saw a few horses grazing by the road.

Excellent place to go with children and dogs!!

I had heard about this forest long time ago and today I have visited it, and I know that I'll come back again.
We took the road to Orbaitzeta from Pamplona to visit Aezkoa valley. We walked Irabia lake track (10 km, 4 hours, easy). Shame that the lake was almost dry and tha this year we have a late fall.
If you love nature and are in Navarra (or close) in fall you must visit this place.

Autumn may be the best season to visit Irati, when the red, brown and green colors mix together in a incredible collage, but any other season is good as well. Beautiful.

We went to Irati Forst in late October for a family trip. We did some hikes in the area which has an amazing scenery around. You must go off tracks a bit to avoid the most crowded places but when you do the place is just magical. Very reccomendable to go in autumn as the colors between trees are amazing, you can perfectly see the difference of species. All between browns, yellow, orange and green...if you are a fan of photography this is your place.

A breathtaking scenery, amazing views to the dam in the middle of the forest. Lovely walk, you can choose either a 4km walk or 10km walk around the dam and forest.
Easy access and parking to start warming up for a beautiful walk. Recommended for BTT!
Not very far from Pamplona, around 1hr30min drive.

Lovely drive through the mountains to this national park which (in November) featured a spectacular array of colours as the leaves were falling. It was still not very cold up there and the park was almost empty, making for a very peaceful environment. There was a whole range of walks available and easily found - including an easy ramble for a few kilometres with the kids (10, 8 and 4 years).

One of the delights of getting to this valley is the joinery. We drove from olive past soaring mountains, up to high mountain meadows and saw wonderful sweeps of clouds. Passing by small mountain villages like Orchagivia that are stunning.

When you arrive that the selva there are information kiosks and guides to help you. Don't forget to pay for the car parking! We did one of the walks to the lakes - about 6 miles - through mixed trees and really enjoyable walk for about 3 hours. People come and stay and camp, others come to do long distance walks and others just be close to nature. It is excellent and worth spending time here.
