Serrano is a very nice avenue in Salamanca with a variety of things to do and see.

There are many shops from high end brands to everyday brands so you can shop till you drop.

There are also many places to eat or have a drink as well.

There are many things to do and see around Calle Serrano, in the neighborhood of Salamanca.

You can start walking at Puerta de Alcala, a spectacular monument located in the center of Plaza de la Independencia. Puerta de Alcala was one of the old gates used to enter the city of Madrid. It's a beautiful landmark, worth visiting, as well as the magnificent Parque del Buen Retiro, a large park filled with gardens and sculptures.

As you walk on Serrano, you will find lots of fine stores, where you can shop, or just window shop, including a nice branch of Corte Ingles famous international brands such as Gucci, Prada, Cartier, Versace, Diesel, Michael Kors and many others.

Right on Serrano you will also find sites such as Plaza Colon and the Jardines del Descubrimiento, and the Museo Arqueológico Nacional.

In Serrano, as well as the nearby streets, there are many good restaurants. Calle Jorge Juan is especially known for its nice restaurants. Platea, located on Calle de Goya, is a former movie theater that has been transformed in a creative gastronomic center.

A must in Madrid to visit the Golden Mile (La milla de Oro). Boutiques, stores, jewelries, restaurants and bars in the streets in this premium location in Madrid. Great ambience.

We spent two days shopping on Serrano and the streets just north of it. All the high end designers are located here. For your convenience there are two locations to go fill out paperwork to get your sales tax back. There are two El Cortes Ingles malls, one for women and one for Men. Both have restuarants on top floors with amazing views of Madrid. If you are shopping at El Cortes Ingles be sure to ask for a tourist card. They are free and give you additional discounts on your purchases, plus you get your sales tax back. I got a Fendi backpack regularly $2500 and I got it for $1200 after all the discounts.

A beautiful street filled with high-end brand name stores. It is less crowded than other areas of Madrid - so it is great walking along the tree-lined street and enjoying the scenery.

Calle Serrano is one of the best high end shopping streets in Madrid and it has many of the famous brands. It is a pleasure just to walk on this street. The sidewalks are wide and there are many shade trees and benches.

The best stores in Madrid are located on Calle Serrano, which is now the 5th Avenue of Madrid. One can find all kinds of stores here and plenty of good restaurants. The street is very clean and there is plenty of security.
