Great place, especially the connection with other suburbs/outside Madrid area.

If the 1st time you take the connection bus here, once you get out the Metro check gate, go downstairs to check the bus timetables to make sure not missed the bus. There are over 20 different bus lines. You can easily to pay by cash for the ticket with driver.

Located in the north of Madrid is Plaza De Castilla ,a really impressive square .
Plaza De Castilla is a modern square roundabout ) ,there are two inclined towers that look very cool called Puerta De Europa Towers ,there's also a modern take on an obelisk known as Caja Madrid Obelisk, theres a cool water feature plus the Jos Calvo Sotelo Monument, its just a really good square to check out if your planning a holiday to Madrid, in my opinion one of the most exciting city's in the world.

This is a modern square in the northern part of Castellana. It has two amazing inclined skyscrapers at the left and right side. Also, there is an obelisk by the famous Spanish architect, Calatrava.
The views are spectacular!

Plaza Castilla and its surroundings are the Madrid financial area. La Puerta de Europa is an unusual combination of the modern square (turnabout) and the surprising leaning buildings of Bankia y Realia over Paseo La Castellana.
A little further north, there is the Cuatro Torres Business Area, which consists of four astonishing and beautiful skyscrapers that are the tallest buildings in Madrid and Spain. The four buildings are Torre Cepsa, Torre PwC, Torre de Cristal and Torre Espacio, all of them built between 2004 and 2009. The Crystal Tower is the highest in Madrid and Spain at 249 meters high.
To visit all these, walk along Paseo La Castellana from Plaza Castilla up north up to Las Cuatro Torres. You might stop in a restaurant to have lunch or have a beer to rest for a while.

To show oneself that one can get out of downtown and the tourist web, check out how real Madrileños live and realize that Madrid, like other cities Is moving quickly into the XXI century. Plaza de Castilla is all of this. It is a cacophony of styles, from the monument to Calvo Sotelo or the obelisk by Calatrava on to the Puerta de Europa by P. Johnson.or the Deposito de Plaza de Castilla and the Fundacion Canal. Just south of the plaza (one block) the Instituto National de Estadistica stands out with its colorful panels. Just North, within easy walking distance the Cuatro Torres stand out on the close horizon. A different Madrid worth seeing nonetheless: history in the peresent tense.
