I gathered from trip advisor review that this is an authentic market that the locals come to to shop (apart from the supermarket). So on saturday morning, I went to find out for myself. Following the crowd, I bought from the busiest stalls spanish green...More

The Mercado de Maravillas has great prime material if you like cooking. It's said to be the best mercado of Madrid (though not the most famous among turists as unlike the market close to the plaza mayor, this one has only few bars and it...More

We went there as we stayed in an apartment and found everything we needed at very reasonable prices. It is not touristy. Nor is it beautiful but the seafood was plentiful and fresh, cheese, olives and fruit excellent.

Best open market in Madrid. Went to San Miguel the first day, but there was only ONE fresh produce stall....all the rest was one big tapas/beer/wine bar....good food, but not what we were after. Maravillas was awesome, with many, many produce/meat/jamon/fish stalls and just a...More

Not the glitziest of Madrid's numerous markets but in my opinion, absolutely the best. Produce from every corner of Spain and beyond.....the variety is fabulous, fresh and reasonably priced. I always stock up here before heading back home. An experience not to be missed.

This market has absolutely everything. As I can see by the few reviews and having sampled it again first hand a few days ago it is still thankfully as authentic as ever. Unlike some of the central markets of Madrid which can get inundated with...More
