Impressive building, well worth the tour from the sweeping grand staircase to the ornate 23 rooms on display. The Royal Armoury is fascinating and has a wonderful display of parade and tournament aRMOUR.

The palace itself is located in a small town on the outskirts of Madrid, a short, pleasant bus ride from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although the palace is of some architectural interest, and although there are works of art and other objects on site, there are constant reminders that this place served as the residence of General... The palace is very impressive and well worth both your time and your 10$ (we paid 5 with student card from israel) The palace is very pretty and the view from the court is amazing (we were there at sunset).

This is the main palace in Madrid, and were the kins live. The visit is nice and interesting. A good view of the city from the back gardens. Free for EU citizens, students and seniors. Some days they have special passport discounts or free access.

It is not as impressive as the Royal Palace in Madrid, but very interesting from a historical and artistic point of view. El Pardo is only a short ride from Madrid, some 12km, and you can go by bus from the Intercambiador of Moncloa (€1.50) or by taxi (some €20).It was from this palace that Franco ruled the country for... It's my own fault, I should have read the small print. You have to take the guided tour which may mean that you have to wait, in our case 30 minutes. However the tour is very good and takes about an hour. There is a small car park directly outside the palace but I imagine it will quickly become full.... More

The Palacio Real is a beautiful piece of history. We chose to rent the guided tour speakers which was a good idea. It was quite crowded and using the guided tour allowed us to move around other groups. The whole visit was done in about 2 hours. If you like history and European palaces this is a must visit.

We had a lot of fun walking around and taking it all in. We loved the tour and loved looking out over the city. Make sure you get the audio tour. I think it was a couple euros, but worth it. The whole walking tour took about 1 to 2 hours. So much to see

The palace was the private residence of Franco. The palace still contains most of its baroque interior and is still used by the royal family from time to time. The royal family itself lives closeby as well. One can see the palace only with a guided tour, which includes both the royal state apartments and also the private apartments or... More
