The area
Neighbourhood: Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.

Simply expendable / Totalmente prescindible

Hacia mucho tiempo que no visitaba el local y ha empeorado muchísimo. La actuación simplemente un auténtico bochorno. Hay una oferta de locales y actuaciones de verdad en Madrid como para ahorrarse este local.

Deeply embarrassed. It has been a long time since the last time I visited the place and it has become absolutely expendable. There is an wide offer of places with live performances to simply avoid this one.

Went in here thinking it would be a Cabaret in fact the night we visited was a Burlesque dancer! In between performances 70s and Soanish disco. Good laugh and performances were great, however drinks a bit on the pricey side

Fun night club with performances

My girlfriend and I had a great time here. We went when they had flamingo performances. A bit of a con in that the performances come on for about 5 minutes every hour or so - there's not much performance to it - but it works nontheless. The dancers come out of a a whole in the dancefloor, which gets partly cleared just before they rise up.

The thing is to not go in expecting a sit down dance performance, and instead to expect a night club that has some professional dance acts scattered throughout the night, and that's exactly what you get.

The drinks are quite expensive at 10 euros for a spirit mixer, but this is not much of a problem unless you're on a mission to get very drunk.

Music played in between performances was quite an eclectic mix from cheesy stuff (In The Navy, for example), to Queen, the Comunards, and more modern stuff too. Nobody seemed to care what was playing, anyway - the dancing just went on and on.
