Have you ever heard of Blas de Lezo and the amazing battle of Cartagena de Indias. No, then you should visit the museum to learn about this incredible Spanish "marino" and one of the most astonishing victories of the "armada".

Although free(donation request) this museum is really only of interest to a select minority. Undergoing renovation did not help. If you have time on your hands go otherwise there is much more to see in Madrid.

The museum is located in a military building so you need a security check and ID. It is free but donations appreciated. The models of the ships are excellent and the exhibits are well curated. Shows Spain’s great naval reach. Look for the oldest map...More
