We only ended up here because we happened to be staying nearby. If you are in the neighbourhood and are looking for a place to chill for a while, this is pretty cool. There is a restaurant inside and they host shows/ music at night. There’s an open courtyard with some interesting architecture to explore and places to sit and relax away from the busy streets.

The place is quaint, far away from the city center... we just didn't get it. There wasn't a lot going on, the staff was not the friendliest so it was hard to figure out what to do. There were a few exhibits, but for some you had to buy tickets, for others you didn't... lots of empty space.... we just didn't get it!

Goes from a windswept desert in midwinter to a vibrant experimental cultural centre when the sun shines.....with its theatres, exhibitions, cineteca, cafés. and outdoor life.

This used to be a slaughterhouse and now it is refurbished as an exhibition center. The open space is used to hold different kinds of cultural events.

Now converted to an exhibition centre and playground , it has some architectural value to explore. From passeo chopera one can cross it to the other side where there are big malls and shopping centre , in between interesting gardens and in the vening one can find a very wide variety of dogs playing there
if in Madrid , one can take a gentle stroll through it

it was the ancient slaugherhouse, a huge space, that is being transformed in a cultural center for the benefit of the community, there wasn´t much to see apart from a photographic exhibit and a African community encounter....there is a space for children´s games that is worth to take the children otherwise, just check before going there

Do not miss this new Madrid Icon. A slaugterhouse in the past now converted to a cultural center. It is not finished yet, so there are some areas under development. You have a museum, some interactive areas mainly for kids, lots of space to stroll, walk at leisure, nice views, bridge, etc.
Use the Legazpi metro stop that will leave you just across the main entrance. Most of the activities are free. You can ride your bike and they have bikes for rental. Best for kids but excellent for all the family. Nice cafeteria in premises. Bike, walking and jogging trails. Nice neighborhood across the bridge.

The renewed Matadero is a large complex area, offering various sites, food places, music, high-level temporary exhibits. In summer time it is a mervelous place to go close to the sunset.
