I found the museum an excellent collection of amazing artists. I would skip the top floor and spend more time on the 2nd and 1st floors.

Sure, people want to see the Prado, however, the most enjoyable visit for us was the Thyssen. The building itself and the rooms are more contemporary in terms of building, and the art work on display appeals to a broader public in my opinion.

The collection is so vast and of such high quality that we needed 2 visits even though we were only in Madrid for 3 days. Luckily the museum is currently free on Mondays.

Perfect size museum, not too big, not too small. With a huge diversity of painters (from XII to XXI centuries) and unique paintings. Great shop at the lobby!
