It's a great place to walk around, you can go with your kids, or with friends, you can get on little boat or just walk around, You have to go to el palacio de cristal that it's inside the Retiro, if you go during weekends it's full of people and street sellers

Free and open to the public, this is a huge Park in the middle of Madrid which dates back to the 17th century. It is known as 'the lungs of Madrid' by the locals, and provides a shady respite from the hot and busy city. Make a point of looking for the Crystal Palace conservatory, a beautiful glass building in... More

The gardens are so beautiful and so much to do, you need to go on the boats a little queue but it goes down quick! €8 for a boat to share between 4 of you. So cheap, You get 45 minutes it's so much fun!

This park is huge! We spent most of the day here, walking and exploring. There are several exhibits to check out. The gardens are wonderful. Lots of walking. Get a map so you don't get lost! Check out the Crystal Palacio... and the ponds and lakes. Gorgeous gardens!

This is a very relaxing green park to get rest and enjoy watching people. You may rent a row-boat too. Lots of trees that make shadow and keep you cool. Worth visiting and getting fresh air following hours of museum visits.

It's one of greatest parks in the world. It's too huge property, so need enough time to walk around it.

There are really not many better places in Madrid...a city full of wonderful places.. Once a garden for a royal palace, Buen Retiro is now a great and beautiful public garden with something for everyone in the family, including playgrounds, miles of walking and jogging trails, a lovely lake, where rowboats can be rented, free concerts by Madrid's symphonic band... We strolled through this park and stunning gardens on the Spanish National Day, and the atmosphere was buzzing! Beautifully maintained and is just massive, and has a lake with rowing boats, and too many other attractions to name. Don't miss this!
