This park is absolutely stunning. Don't miss the Crystal Palace or the pond with the rowboats. There are number of pavilions and some large statues. There are food vendors as well.

Place to visit in Madrid. Take your time to recreate yourself with the vegetation and to take a good walk. If you are not afraid of the water, a boat ride is fantastic

Retiro park is big strolled around every day and still found something new ,Busy on a Sunday as all of Madrid seems to go there you can have a bite to eat and a beer while watching the world go by.

Huge park - which it needs to be as it is very popular. Multiple entrances. Grand monuments, lovely lake, palaces and wonderful trees. Wildlife. Nice outdoor cafes/bars to chill and chat.

Lovely place to spend an afternoon or even a whole day, reading, journaling, doing a picnic, talking to friends, rowing on the lake, and so much more. Truly beautiful and my favourite place in Madrid!

Amazing park and the fact that we could see up close parrots it just made my trip! This was the highlight of my trip! Otherwise it is a must to take a stroll and relax in Retiro, because it is worth it!

From memory, the boats aren't available to hire when I was there but it might have been the time of year i.e. winter

Both times that I have been there, it has been closed, but it is all glass so you can see right thru it. It is more a unique historical building that could be used to display sculpture or grow plants. They could not charge... More
