First time to Madrid and I went on a few tours and they were always outside of the palace so we decided to visit the inside of the palace. €11 for adults and €6 for under the age of 16 to 12 I think... You...More

Nice palace though it is bigger on the outside than inside. Didn't take as long as we thought but it was interesting and probably the brevity helped the enjoyment.

Though I didn't have time to go inside, the building its very imposing and photogenic. It is quite easy to get to (Plaza del Oriente).

This is a must visit in Madrid. The palace is incredibly beautiful, the architecture and the differentiation and intricacy of each room is lovely. The only downside is that upon entry you are not allowed to take any pictures which is definitely an injustice as...More

I went to visit royal palace several times with my friends and family. If you are in Madrid and lover of arts / architect don't miss the visit. It's worth the time. There is a nice park down and extremely pleasing environment. It's generally crowded...More

Although the line for tickets to tour the inside was way too long for us, we were really impressed with this enormous beautiful building and gardens. Also check out the inside of Almudena church across the courtyard which has no line and is free of...More

We may be a bit jaded but the Madrid Royal Palace felt a bit sterile and vacuous. Don't go after 4pm as the lines are ridiculous. Apparently entry is free for EU residents after 5 so they start queing up around 4.

Spectacular changing of the guard with horses and musicians. Apartments to visit are not many like Versailles or Caserta, but are very popular with something different. Almenno two rooms leave you breathless. Also exciting the Royal Chapel inside the Palace. The square is Fabulous. To...More

Is the palace open to visit on August 15? Feast of the assumption. I know many places in Spain are closed that day but I can't find any information about the Palacio Real.
