This is a very crowded meeting point or plaza at all times! Christmas 's lights are very nice! A lot of shops around it! Of course, it's very touristy yet an important cross roads to all directions!

pictures make this statue seem much larger than it really is, but once you find it, it's a great photo op and fun to rub the bear's foot.

Puerta del sol is a place in which you can find street shows, mascots and disguised people and a lot of people, especially the weekend, the place is so crowded that the police organize the mouvement of pedestrians in the connected streets.

Big open public space that marks Madrid's Central point. Lots of people, tourists and Madrileños at all hours of the day. Lots of stores on the periphery. A must see spot.

This is the tourist center of Madrid but apart from taking a picture or two with the leon statue you have nothing interesting to do. And by the way is very crowded.

What is the name of the hotel? I was thinking of another hotel in a different city when I responded. Puerta del Sol is a plaza in Madrid.
