This is a must see when visiting the Rock as it is one of the more famous aspects of the island. It's also a good photo opportunity but be careful as the apes, while cute, can be dangerous and aggressive. They have been known to...More

We saw roughly the same number of apes while visiting the Den, as we did at the top of the Rock. So we were pretty bored with it. I would skip it, if you are walking back down from the Cable Car, or on a...More

You can see the apes in their natural habitat. They are used to humans but if they sense that you have food be prepared to be stolen.

There are about 200 wild apes on the island and pockets of them all around. They are pretty much habituated so as long as you don’t touch them or feed them you can have a pretty good encounter up close.

Apes Den is what makes Gibraltar so unique. Not only is there historic significant to the Barbary Apes, but also just seeing the views from the Den was amazing. Do not touch the apes because they will bite!

You can get to the apes den easily by going up in the cable car or you can take a taxi trip up which takes in all the important sights, apes den included.
