Good but English tour availability not advised of. Assured us we'd be back in time for Mass. Weren't. Didn't get a lot out of our roof tour as no English was spoken, no headsets, no translation sheets and all posters in Spanish only. Still was good to get the view and marvel at their lack of worry re safety. A... More

Great location at the top of the hill where the old town is. A must see if you are in Santiago. There's major renovation work going on (April 2017) so that spoils the photo opportunities a bit.

There are far best cathedrals to visit in Spain as this cathedral gives Roman a poor reflection the meaning of their fath. There is little or no management of the hordes of tourists.

Finished our pilgrimage from Ferrol to Santiago with Mass at the Cathedral. We were mentioned in the service and the incense ball swung.

Although right now part of it is being renovated. It is one of the most important religious site in Europe. The Cathedral marks the end of the Way of St. James/ Camino de Santiago. Although you don´t need to be a pilgrim to visit this grand site. The surrounding area is just as grand. The cathedral has 4 facades; the... More

Attending mass in this Cathedral and experiencing the swinging of the " Bota Fumeiro" is an experience I wiill always treasure. One can walk behind the Alter and hug the statue of Santiago and pray at his remains.

The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is currently undergoing some restoration work, nevertheless it is open and free to enter. You are able to see the final resting place of the Apostle St James and embrace the statue of the Apostle. The large incense burner can be seen, but only swings above the congregation on special days. It is also... More

Outstanding Cathedral! Best to see after a five hundred mile pilgrimage on the Camino De Santiago de Compostelo from St. Jean-de-Pied , France.

It was an honor to complete the Camino de Santiago and conclude the trip in one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in Spain. As I viewed the beautiful architecture, to the swinging of the huge thurible with incense, blessing the Alter; I was in awe.

A must visit to this grand of all grand cathedrals. When you enter inside and see the intricate design of the church, you are impressed and amazed at such work of art. Also inside is the tomb of the apostle St.James.One peculiar thing i noticed is that they let the people line up and touch and embrace from the back the statue... More
