As in Ceuta sites, the cathedral is not overly large, but it is still very granduer and conveniently located amoung other sites and very much worth a visit inside. As well the archeological site on the side of the building is worth a few moments...More

Following the conquest of the city by Portugal in 1415, the construction of the cathedral on the site of an old mosque was started. By 1672 this building was in such bad repair it was closed and by 1735 the present building had been constructed....More

Worth doing. The cathedral is very well located and reflects a history of the area. I was quite impressed with the life-sized statues.
