Worth a stroll down/ visit to see the roman amphitheatre at end and Nice view. Tarragona probably fair to say not the most beautiful Spanish city but has its charms, e.g. indoor Market a must see for anyone with even a passing interest in food culture

One of the main avenues in Tarragona. Lined with restaurants, tapas bars, shops and apartments. The buildings lining this avenue are lovely - some have very detailed architecture. At the eastern end is the Mediterranean Balcony where grand views overlooking the Sea can be had. There is a pedestrian-only walkway that runs down the middle of the Rambla which is lined with trees. A most pleasant place to stroll when in Tarragona.

walkway down the centre of tarragona. plenty of space with loads of benches to sit on and watch the world go by. just reminded me of a small version of las ramblas in barcelona.

No shortage of choices for cafes or restaurants along this street. The outdoor seating is a great place to people watch, enjoy a beverage before walking to the view point cliff called the Mediterranean Balcony. So pretty to look out into the ocean or even back down La Rambla with the huge meridian walkway down the tree lined centre. There are a few great statues to look at along this stretch as well.

A long straight double tree lined route to the sea - but that is just part of it.
There are various eateries along this pristine promenade. From restaurants to ice cream, hair dressers to hugo-boss , offices to opticians, with the whole affair tripping down to the statue at the Sea view ' balcony ' with telescope to continue your visual voyage
Don't be afraid to eat here as there are many Menu del Dias to be had at below average price for above average fare.
A stroll down here could take all day, especially if it is market day with many vendors selling many items to soak an hour, and shopping at "posh" designer shops may soak more plastic
Rambla is better than Barcelona as it feels safer, with more reliable eateries
Don't miss it !

It is the balcony at the end of the Ramblas that is the sight you are visiting. It overlooks the sea from the heights and is stunning, especially on a sunny day when the wind is blowing.

If like us you arrived on a sunny day with a dog in the car there is excellent underground parking leaving us free to explore. Dogs aren't welcome in the touristic places. Above ground there are shops, bars and fountains to start exploring.

This is the main shopping street but much more...expect excellent cafes, up-market shops, a central walking area and a road that end with spectacular views over the sea. Its easy and unhassled and perfect stroll just a few minutes away from the main square and the Old Town - perfect go and enjoy

Similar to the main street through Barcelona although much quieter, this is a nice walk from the main bus station of Tarragona right down to the picturesque old town and sea front. Along the route there are some nice statues (including the 'Human Tower' of Castellers) and a few places to grab a snack or a drink. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end to the other.

A nice walk from the fountains near the bus station past the human tower monument, another fountain and all the way up to the Balcony view point. Quiet a few nice cafes to stop at for a drink.
