This was our favourite archeological visit, not just for what is there, but it was extremely peaceful away from all of the guided tours elsewhere.
A gentle stroll with lots of information boards, the foots of the walls adorned with flowering shrubs and birds singing in the trees.

Great visit to Tarragona, history, Harbour, shopping, food & drink, well worth a visit . Best time to go is to see "The Castells" (human Towers).

On a sunshine filled day a walk in the footsteps of what are, outside of Italy, the best extant building works from Roman times was enjoyable.

Albeit considerably changed and reinforced since those ancient times, the length of what remains, at over 1km and their impressively good state is a superb legacy for all to marvel at and enjoy.

We certainly did.

Very pleased to be asked if I was a teacher (as I am!) as this got me in for free! This is something I’ve never come across before, so pleasantly surprised. I very much enjoyed the history coming to life along the walls and found it all very informative.

It’s €3 to wonder along the old city walls to see great views out over the city and a narrative of the history of these ancient walls. Info boards give an insight into the turbulent years this fortification has seen, there are toilets but no refreshments.

visted old roman walls of the city , its a gate that's still in use today. Its a nice photo opportunity and then best to move on around the old town. A walk around the old city is a walk in history. You can see where the Roman Chariots raced. You get a feel of how Romans lived and a walk down the rambla nova to the balco del mediterran the views are wonderful

I was fortunate enough to be standing at this wonderful archwayon Good Friday, whilst watching the Easter procession slowly make its way through into the old town of Tarragona. It is SO old and as you walk underneath it’s imposing structure, you feel as if you are stepping back in time and treading in the footsteps of the roman soldiers. Touch the stones, it’s ‘real’ history!

Buy the ticket for all four roman attractions here, it won't break the piggie bank - 3.35 euros for seniors and 7.70 for adults. A pleasant walk soaking up the roman history surrounding you.

I saw a lot of potential for a UNESCO heritage site, but the state in which it currently is, I would not return. The only thing that is remotely interesting from an archeological point of view right now, is the walls. There's a big map detailing the city of Tarracon under Roman rule, and the tour of the intra muros is really well laid out, but in my opinion, it's not quite there yet and I left severely disappointed.

Wait for another few years and see if it's improved.
