Beautiful place an hour away by train from Barcelona city centre. Worth a visit if you are interested in mountains and religious places. There are restaurants serving good varieties of food. Don't forget to attend the kids singing performance at 01:00 pm.

I travelled here solo, easy to do and worth the views. Do yourself a favour and get the earliest train- around 8am. Worth it to beat the cues. Placa de Espanya- ticket station is there (no need to buy too far in advance). Get the €29.50 ticket including the funiculars (little tram-like carts) and cable car. If you do this... More

Montserrat was one of our day trips from Barcelona, and we enjoyed the trip by train, which took just one hour or so. As soon as we arrived, we were treated to spectacular views of the serrated mountains. The cable car ride going up is an adventure by itself (I won't spoil it for you). And when you arrive at... We decided to visit this place at the very last day, we did not have much time. However, we managed to cover as much as possible in a span of 1hr 30mins. Tips: Leave early, Take the cable car to the top as it will give you a good view. if with family , pack some sandwiches as the queue... More

The location of the monastery in the mountains around Montserrat is a magnificent setting for this beautiful building. The courtyard of the monastery is breathtaking and entering the doors, you are welcomed to a delight to the eyes. It's a stunning interior and well worth some time exploring. Make sure you also explore the hiking trails in the area as... More

What great views from Montserrat! A lovely Monastery church and lots of great food and drink products made by the monastery. The museum is very nice, I recommend budgeting more time for it (I didn't get to see much before our tour left).

This tour was amazing! I booked an early entrance tour before the public is allowed in through getyourguide.com who booked me with Amigos Tours. This company is great because you can use etickets instead of paper tickets! My guide from Amigos Tours, Sasha was so energic and friendly even though this was an early morning tour! She was super excited... More

Some beautiful hiking trails with spectacular views along the way. We took the trail to the top, Sant Jeroni. Lot's of stairs and some dirt, buy very manageable grade. A person with average fitness could do this no problem. We were up and down in 2.5 hours. Start early though! We went up at 8am and had the trail to... More
