We were going climbing at Montserrat and took the Funicular to the base of the climbs. Saved us an hour hike each way with all our gear. It was extremely convenient and made it so that we could do much more that day.

Some of the ride up looks straight up. Liked how the 2 cars pass each other. If the views bellow aren't enough....ride all the way to the top!

This funicular costs around €23 for an adult and takes about 5 minutes. Walking - or climbing - would take probably over an hour. It's very easy, but it's worth expending some energy at the top, to see some hermitages and spectacular views.
