The person with whom I spoke was programmed to show me the map and the highlights; however, she never asked if I'd been to this town before... overly programmed/trained.

We found the staff in the tourist office to be very friendly and helpful, but we were very disappointed by the lack of English language leaflets. Surely a tourist office should cater for foreign visitors as well as the local population.

We picked up a city map and were given clear directions to our hotel. Also given a couple of interesting leaflets regarding museums - 50% off admission after the first one - and details of the Jazz festival gigs.

What a friendly bunch, we were made to feel very welcome. We read about their little orienteering sight-seeing tour so we popped in there and they gave us the map, which had 14 places to find on it. It lead us all over town which...More
