It's a replica, don't do it if you want not to look like a regular tourist ;) One real case is that the city hall has to change the ladder to climb up, because one french veteran, fall & die (literally, but be calm if...More

After too many roundabouts and too many churches and too many castles, I was more than happy to kiss the butt of the lioness. I will now be back to Girona for sure!

It is said that in the past everyone who was new to the city should kiss the bum of a lioness in order to be accepted and then granted to come back in the future. People still do this and kiss the bottom of a...More

Get your good luck here. Touch the lion's rear end and whoopee you'll never have bad luck again. Yeh right, but you can always blame it all on the "Spanish".

SO many pictures everywhere speak of this little lion, a nice replica of the original when you chance upon it near the bridge at the bottom of the Basilica de Sant Feliu. You may wonder why people kiss its little tail piece but its a...More

On a recent stroll around the old town I noticed that this attraction has a new set of steps to help visitors who want to follow the tradition of kissing this object. Following the tragic accident at this spot I suppose this alteration was long...More

The Lion is near the St Felix cathedral, close to the river. It's not a major attraction, but worth a 10 minute stop to check it out, take a photo, and kiss the statute to bring luck of returning to Girona
