It is said that in the past everyone who was new to the city should kiss the bum of a lioness in order to be accepted and then granted to come back in the future. People still do this and kiss the bottom of a...More

A statue of a lion up a pole, which supposedly bestows good luck / ensures a return if you kiss / rub it on the bottom. There are now steps with a handrail to make it easier, but some seem to have transferred the legend...More

Get your good luck here. Touch the lion's rear end and whoopee you'll never have bad luck again. Yeh right, but you can always blame it all on the "Spanish".

The Lion is near the St Felix cathedral, close to the river. It's not a major attraction, but worth a 10 minute stop to check it out, take a photo, and kiss the statute to bring luck of returning to Girona

That’s what it is, nothing more nothing less. BUT, if you touch it or kiss it, it brings good luck, or it means you will return to Girona, or it will protect you from the plague (unless the person touching or kissing it before you...More

This "lion" (in my opinion, it doesn't really resemble a lion...) is located at the base of Sant Feliu. Legend has it, if you kiss the lion's bottom you will return to Girona again. Once you get past the icky of kissing a lion's butt...More
