Free walk along the ancient city walls. It'll take you a couple of hours if you take your time BUT you can stop off at many places and continue another day if you fancy doing it in easy stages. Great views.

If you make the climb up to the wall you won't be disappointed. Not only does it provide great views, it confirms just how impressive the builders were. Quite amazing.

Really cool experience walking along the wall, doesn’t take too long, most photogenic spots are near the university with some cool lookouts over the city.

A lovely but steep walk takes you up to the walls area. Easy walking along the walls and some amazing views.

A great way to view the city and the cathedral with the added benefit of it being free. Can be a little slippy when wet.

Very nice wall walk around the historical core of Girona. Great spots from which is it possible to see the entire city and further away. That’a pity though that the walls do not do a Closed circle.

Walking along the city wall is a good way to start your visit to Gerona. It gives you an overview of all the neighbourhoods and main buildings, and of the river. When you finish at the higher part, you can walk down along the university...More

I would include Besalu. Take the bus from just off the Passeig de Gracia. Take the bus from there to Girona and train back to Barcelona. Very nice day trip.

I agree with the prior answer and would add that there is often live musicians in the ruins/park behind the cathedral. It is slightly uphill from the back of the church. Girona is a world class bicycling City, I would find a... More

This is a great place to visit. It is not a complete wall around the old city. In other words, you do not end up where you started. You can start at either end, but the wall slopes slightly so if you start at one end you... More
