You walk through arches of stones engraved with dates on them.....1203, 1357 etc etc. These stones were placed almost 1000 years ago, yet the stores and shopping are for the modern day consumer. I love to travel, but I am not a big believer in...More

The Jewish Quarter in Girona is right by the cathedral on the hill. The streets are narrow and one could get lost in the area without paying good attention. It is an unfortunate chapter in history that the streets lost their Jewish population centuries ago....More

To visit Girona, we had a local guide that told us the story of the Jewish Quarter. Most of the buildings are almost intact.

Very old feeling, medieval streets, narrow passageways. Fun to meander and get lost. Very photogenic in a compact area.

Great afternoon walking around the old streets finding hidden courtyards and alleys, all with interesting histories. Walked on the renovated old city walls. Great views over Girona from above the cathedral Spectacular gardens. Not to be missed

Don't miss the Jewish Museum - only 2 euros if you are a senior. We arrived about 1.5 hours before closing but were still able to see everything.

The Jewish quarter forms the central part of the old town, and is well-preserved with many narrow streets. We enjoyed walking through the area and looking at the shops.

This area is not very big, but it is very nice to walk through. There is a museum too and there are a couple of nice restaurants.

If you don't mind the steps take your time and just explore. I found myself smiling at some of the sights and stairs... but the views are really wonderful when you get to climb all the stairs...

A very well preserved medieval city center with a lot of streets to walk in. Some steps depending on the circuit, narrow streets and good looking buildings. Worth the visit.
