Cutest corner of Girona

This is one of the cutest corners of the town. A mix of old and new and cute shops. It's a great place to get lost in tiny streets and stairs. Well worth the visit

Excellent museum dedicated to Jewish philosopher Nachmanides, his disputes with the Church n arguments with the Friars. Eye popping re the ethnic cleansing the Jews had forced upon them. Amazing place n well worth the visit.

Once upon a time the Jewish community of Spain thrived and produced some of the greatest Rabbi's of all time including the Rambam, the Raban and the Abarbanel. The Raban spent time in Girona, eventually settling in Jerusalem. The Girona community has built a beautiful Jewish museum and excavated some Jewish ritual baths(mikvaot). Set in the beautiful old city of... More

I broke away from the stock Sandeman's tour of Girona to explore the Jewish Museum in this little medieval city. I did so with my guide's encouragement and was delighted by a large history museum with well written descriptions in English and 2 other languages. I learned a great deal and had no idea that a city in Spain might... More

As part of a tour group, we loved this area, as it was beautiful. It was really funny to watch 3 small vans (tradesmen) trying to make it through one of the very narrow streets filled with lots of tourists.

You might as well do this as it's kinda in the heart of the city anyway, so take some time to look around and you'll learn a lot about the history of the city. It's a fascinating story with some very dark times.

At night down the cobbled lanes you may not even be aware you are in the old Jewish Quarter until you see the star and reflect. By day the museum may be open permitting a visit and information on those that once lived there. A beautiful and intriguing area of the old town with many good restaurants open at late... More

The Jewish Quarter is extremely scenic and beautiful. It is truly a great place to wander around and enjoy the architecture. You'll find no shortage of great photograph opportunities. Best visited during the late afternoon where the stone structures pop out more! Also bring good walking shoes.

Lovely walk around this area. It is very picturesque and a great place to spend the day with some nice eateries. Overall Girona was a nice place to visit and also seen the sites of where Game of Thrones was filmed.
