The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Poblenou
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centres catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.

Beautiful beach with clearest water! Chairs and umbrella was €45 but worth it for the day. Bar/restaurant was perfect grab food and drinks while at you chairs. Would recommend for sure.

The beach itself is ok, it could do with litter bins maybe , but the absolute plague and l mean plague of people trying to sell you blankets ,umbrellas, mojitos, and massages is totally over the top, don’t go here if you can’t deal with them, the sunbeds plus umbrella hire was €60 , extortion!!! We won’t recommend this beach plus we won’t ever return 🙁

I walked to this beach from our hotel. It is a neighborhood beach, a bit far away from all the tourist activities. Still quite a few people enjoying the sun and the water. Some views of the city in the distance.

Good sandy beach. It’s a wide stripe of sand where you can find a place because it’s not so crowded. There are beach volleyball zone, many cafes and restaurants.

Well worth the extra 20 minutes on the bus to get to this beach. *much* nicer than Barceloneta, quieter (though still busy) and much cleaner. One end is nudist but only in a fairly moderate kind of way.

Filthy, plastic bags, bandage plasters, detritus etc.. in the water, stung a couple of times by the local jellyfish, sharp rocks underwater in the beach shallows that you cant see because the water is also filthy. Wouldnt be surprised if the water quality was ‘hazardous’ as the nearby part of town honks like a medieval sewer. Broken glass everywhere. Over the tanoy the lifeguard is shouting, keep an eye on your bags as they are likely to be stolen. Gave it a star for the ‘surviving a life experience’ aspect.

Nice beach but it’s crowded with people. The vendors walking around the beach illegally selling alcohol tend not to care about stepping on your property and even bury their backpacks in the sand right by people. I assume it’s to hide alcohol from the police or transfer between other vendors without being caught but it’s shady and feels unsafe.

I attended the free Orchestra on the beach and it was amazing. Sound was perfect, ambient and we were all in awe listening to the band. It’s free organised events like this that introduce people to new genre of music and they go to paid events later. Good work Barcelona!!!!

Acqua pulita ?
E libera come spiaggia ? C’è qlk lido a prezzo ragionevole...

Have a layover in Barcelona from 11:00am to 6:00pm - looking for a day at the Beach - or a good beach bar to “park” until evening flight to Naples - any suggestions?

I can recommend the Bogatell Beach. Walk across the beach. You will find bars as well.

le mieux c'est le matin pour choisir sa place, mais en plein mois de juillet nous en trouvions quelques unes de vides même à 15h00.

Hi. The beach is quite large and there are plenty of loungers. I'm sure you won't have any bother at any time of day.
