I love this square

You can go for a relaxing coffee there. It's a really beautiful square and it's very close to MNAC (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya)

This plaza is very nice and when you visit Barcelona, you should visit it. The red hop on/hop off bus stops here and it is a central spot. Across the street is La Arenas mall that used to be a bullfighting ring and to the south is Mont Juic where the Olympics were held. You can also catch the underground... More

Beautiful place. Plaza espanya metro station is just under it. There is a mall next to it. There are also many shops around the place

Our Hotel was just 200 hundred meters from Plaza España, a perfect position. Stroll down the ever busy La Ramba in the evening and soak up the atmosphere. We found it best to go to the bars and restaurants off of La Rambla for much better value

a grand square in the centre of Barcelona, very busy with traffic and tourists. worth a visit and a few photos but there are many places of greater interest in the city.

You are there, stop for a moment, try to find out how many different nationalities are around you, artists, street performers, the traffic around it and have a coffee in a nice cafe at the Plaza Catalunya.

Big open square with the Barcelona Pavillion and Mies van see Rohe Pavillion from the great exhibition dominating the area. Good point from which to travel within and outside of the city with bars and cafes a plenty.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
