Plaza España is one of the most important squares in town. It is the gateway to the Magic Fountain of Montjuic, one of the most spectacular sights of Barcelona., Here you have the newest shopping centers in Barcelona, the Arenas de Barcelona , built out of an abandoned Bull Ring. This is one of the biggest touristic places of the... More

Placa Espanya is an impressing place with it's towers, corrida arena, the fair ground and Montjuic hill next to it. You can enjoy it during the day and night, although at night you get all the nice lightning.

The walk up the hill to reach the National Art Museum gives a great view of the city with the fountains below. You can also carry on to the Olympic Stadium from the Art Museum. The view of Placa Espanya is quite amazing!

This is a good place to go and get a nice view of the city. You can be dropped off at plaza espana and then you walk up the steps along the fountain, you can even go to the museums up at the top of that and then you can take the view in. There were escalators also so if... More

The Placa d'Espanya is an easy metro hop from Catalunya. By day, it is just another plaza with the former bull ring now a shopping mall but at night if you are going to see the magic fountain, the walk from the metro is beautiful as the plaza is lined with silvery fountains which take away the daytime dreary-look. Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
