The first place I land myself in when I came to the city from the airport on airport bus. There's a museum nearby where you can oversee the city view when you go up the steps. It is also near the Olympic park and stadium.

Very cool spot. Fountains were beautiful. We caught a show with large puppets they had there for Christmas that was incredible.

Spent New Year's Eve with the crowds in Placa Espanya. Saw the fireworks, music, and fountain show. A lot of happy people but relatively well behaved crowd with kids, families, couples, etc. Make sure you have 12 grapes handy to celebrate the new year.
