We had a creat experience with our guide Àlex D.Cardona. We went first to local cheese Factory, the family were super nice. We tasted different kind of cheese. Second stop was at Olive Oil farm. The experience was unique, we learned how we can distinguish between the normal Olive Oil, Virgin & Extra Virgin. I would like to thank again... More

Alex & Cesc are some of the most professional and knowing guides you can find if you want to explore the Catalan cuisine beyond the traditional outposts. For the second consequtive Christmas we have arranged a custom Tapas tour with Aborigines and this year we also added a full day of Truffle Hunting. Cesc is one of the most passionate... More

We chose Aborigens to be able to savor the real Catalunya and our full day with Alex did not disappoint. While our original itinerary was cancelled due to weather, Alex delivered an amazing alternative experience, starting with breakfast and a tour of a 400 year old family-run pork producer, a tour of Vic that included a stop for "vermut" and... My wife and I visited Barcelona a year ago and on our first day there took the Market tour with Alex. We went to a markets, speciality meats store, sweets maker and a vermouth bar. Everything was delicious. At the second market Alex gathered items from several stalls and had them prepared at a small stand in the market that... More

I'll keep it short - as the last thing these guys need is more publicity! 5 1/2 hours of dining, drinking and wandering areas of Barcelona I had not been to before. My wife and I were introduced to rose vermouth (and bought a bottle), Ratafia and all sorts of other great food and drinks. Alex is just a blast... More

I did the Beyond Tapas tour. The tour started in the Eixample area and was away from the touristy areas. We tasted a wide variety of tapas, most being traditional with a few having a more modern influence. Throughout the evening I tried a variety of local wines, cava & vermouth. It was well paced, easy walking and a highly... More

If you're looking for famous typical tapas, you can use google or trip advisor. I was looking for real local places and this tour was the one !!! Alex introduced not only cava, also Vermut, Petillant Naturel(Natural Sparkling wine) or Gengibre drink. He also took us to old Bodega where they sell wines from barrel, small taperia but fully crowded... More

I loved the Aborigens food tour on my first trip to Barcelona two years earlier—so this year, now with my boyfriend, I was delighted that our stay coincided with another Catalan foodie night. For more than 5 hours, we feasted on creative and mouth-watering preparations of shellfish, cured cod, peppers, mushrooms, figs, Iberian ham, croquettes and more. We’re essentially non-drinkers,... We loved our market and food tour with Alex. We went to two markets and a vermut bar; everuything was delcious and super fun for the adults and our three kids. We did a customized tour for 9 people and Alex was great in making sure we got to try all the Catalan specialities we requested. Wonderful!

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
