A really nice stadium with the Olympic Legacy thrown in. Great for a football match.A really nice stadium with the Olymp
We attended to watch the Barcelona Granada football match one evening. It is a really impressive stadium with a not too bad walk from the Espagna Metro station. The building is very concrete-ey, however it is set out in a very basic and straightforward way that is easy to follow. The seating was relatively comfy and the staff serving food were very friendly. We were not too far from the Olympic flame and clock at one side of the stadium and the views down to the match were nowhere near as bad as I thought they would be, having sat at the back of Wembley and West Ham in the past - never do it! Overall, we had a great experience, and would definitely recommend it to others

    A Springsteen Concert
First of all I'm never going to give anywhere Springsteen plays less than a 5 star review because he could elevate anywhere. Fortunately the venue was excellent, even the walk up to the stadium had some great views. I had some trouble locating my seat due to lack of stewards but when I was seated I had a great view and obviously the sound was amazing.

Worth of visit, even without any special event
There are so much to see and do in Montjuic hill, that it's well worth of visit, when you are in Barcelona. It would've been nice to take the cable car there, but they start to operate 10am and our Cruise ship was on dock already at 8am. After walking around stadium area, we walk towards huge National Museum and from there steps down towards Placa de Catalunya

    Stadium steeped in history!
It's just a stadium, until you think of its history. It was originally built for the 1929 Barcelona World Exhibition, later refurbished in hopes of use for the 1936 Olympics (but which were instead awarded to Berlin), then refurbished again for the 1992 Summer Olympics. Currently famously used as a venue for concerts (including Bruce Springstein) and various sporting events. The stadium now seats about 54,000.

    Wandering around outside
Our family of two adults, a 9 year old and a 7 year old visited Barcelona for 3 days in July. We visited here one weekday morning. On visiting here, I was taken back to the images on TV from the Games and imagining the hub of activity and history being made. We had free rein of the place, wandering about though the stadium wasn't open perhaps as Barcelona FC play here whilst the Camp Nou is being refurbished? Don't miss the amazing views of the city as you are quite high up. Enjoy.

Reviewing this as a football stadium after recently attending a game - it's a dreadful experience. It's a long walk up to the ground from the city center but there are escalators most of the way. Once inside, there's zero protection from the elements, little leg room, uncomfortable seats, little signage and you can barely see what's happening in front of you, let alone the far side of the pitch.

Food/drink really expensive too.

Wandering into this stadium was an absolute delight. It just oozes history, from the 1929 Expo to the 1992 Olympics to hosting Espanyol in La Liga for many years. Completely free to just walk in. There is a cafe and a souvenir shop inside if you do want to spend some money. A great contrast to the extortionate cost of touring the Camp Nou, and, of course, it will be home to FC Barcelona for the 2023/24 season (that will be interesting).

this is a free attraction , tickets are not required. We visited barcelona olympic museum and this stadium is located adjacent to the museum. I watched 1992 olympic when I was a school kid and visiting this place brought me those happy memories like Carl Lewise, Ben Johnson, Sergey Bubka. There is a restaurant inside that you can have a drink and snack while enjoying the view of stadium.
Keep half and hour to one hour for this place. this is located just walking distance from National art museum- Barcelona.

Watched an FC barcelona football match here. Best described as chaos in the ground. People smoking on the concourse next to bins and an emergency exit....took ages for someone to tell them to stop. I had to tell this young lad not to smoke in front of me. Just zero concept of safety. people loitering at the tops of the stairs to seats and it took 40 mins to get a beer! Come on guys up your game....100 euros a ticket for an experience that was not particularly safe at times.

The original Olympic Stadium in Barcelona was built for the 1929 World Expo, likewise many other things around on the Montjuic hill.
After that, it was renovated for the 1992 Olympics held here.
It is one of many other attractions on Montjuic and this one's for free. You can enter the stadium, walk a limited part of it and read interesting plaques with pics depicting its history.

Walking with my girlfriend on the tourist bus through Barcelona we arrived at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys or Montjuïc. It was built in 1927 for the Barcelona International Exhibition in 1929. It was remodeled for the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. It is located on the Anella Olímpica in Montjuïc. A beautiful historic stadium built by architect Pere Domènech i Roura.
