In this space an atheist could start to believe. Just beautiful. And living - not only for tourists. If you spend the winter in Barcelona, you should see The Dance of The Eagle event.

Wonderful old church. Worth a visit just to sit and look up. Interesting history in a wonderful part of the city.

The church was destroyed in the 30s. Its baroque features were destroyed. It is now a very pure Gothic church. Imagine going into Chartres or Notre Dame 50 years after they were opened; you get the sense of the architecture in a very pure form.

If you are going to see the basillica take the tour as you will get a history of Barcelona and as well as the basillica. And there's a cool view at the top of the tower!

We made a point to go here on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm so glad we did. The main Barcelona Cathedral is gorgeous and ornate, and Santa Maria del Mar is understated by comparison, but it is therefore even more beautiful IMHO since...More

You can visit this place without any pre-booking. But if with a tour guide it would be more informative.

This is one of the best places we went in Barcelona. It has great atmosphere and is different to a lot of other churches we visited. Also a great counterpoint to the Sagrada Familia which has similar high ceilings but is different in almost every...More

The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

I went in July and there was no charge to go inside the church. It was €3 to go to the roof, but it was definitely worth it!

if you are having difficulty getting an answer from the church perhaps you could contact the diocese?
