Unpolite and rude Dj and staff. If you don't like your job and working for people, just dedicate yourself to another thing. There is definitely much more choice in Barcelona and we'll never go back to this place.

Swing and a miss on this place!! My other half and I went in about midnight as it was close to our hotel and are into rock, we were literally the only customers in there! The DJ put on one Elvis album and left the building....so after about 5 Elvis songs and our drink gone we legged it! Probably better... More

The bartender was very rude. I asked for a drink she didn't have and she was impolite and rude, being ironic instead of offering me other choices. Other staff was ok. You can have the same music and vibe at places located in the center.

I had an awful experience at this terrible venue. Bad music, quiet sound system and a sad crowd of miserable 40-somethings.

Magic club plays primarily music that can be classified as rock. The club is not fancy in any way as the interior is very plain. There's a quite big dance floor with a stage that seemed to fiil up with dancers as the night passed. The entrace fee was 12€ and you got a drink or two beers with it.... More

when my buddy and i walked into this hole in the wall rock & roll bar in the born at 230 on a Friday night, the performers on stage were nailing the Rocky Horror Picture Show's Sweet Transvestite (from Transexual, Transylvania) in full costumed regalia. AND THEY OWNED. IT was amazing - one of the best live performances of anything... More

Before Barcelona became a mecca for djs and ravers it Rock´n´Roll reigned supreme and Magic, it seems is the last remaining relic of this age still preserved in its original state. Local bands play home-grown guitar music here as they have done since the 70´s. The booze is good and the bands are refreshingly live.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
