The Tablao de Carmen pays tribute to the great flamenco dancer, Carmen Amaya, born in 1913 in the gypsy quarter of Somorrostro which then existed in what is today Barcelona's Olympic Village. Carmen Amaya made her debut in 1929 before King Alfonso XII on the site which is today the Tablao de Carmen at the inauguration of Poble Espanyol de Montjuic. The Tablao offers a top quality pure flamenco show, a direct descendant of the tradition. It dynamically presents several of the most important palos or styles of flamenco so that the spectator can get to know the richness and variety of this art form. It also highlights its different forms of expression: instrumental, vocal and dance.

It was like they were having a party and we were invited. It was loud, fun, and lively! Enjoyable experience.

Within a beautiful 'fake' village containing many shops and restaurants which were closed when I visited, however, I believe they all open in peak season. In the village, there are amazing buildings and lots to explore, the view from the top is worth it. The...More

Really enjoyable show with talented dancers and musicians. Excellent tapas. There was plenty of food, so no need to order the full dinner. The potatoes and oxtail croquettes were especially delicious. The sangria was also very good.

S superb, charismatic and emotional experience - not to be missed. It surpasses the flamenco that I have seen anywhere else in Spain.

The room is good, we were in the VIP seating which comes with a nicer meal too. The environment is good but a little too large and bright for flamenco. The performances however were really top notch, as good as you'll find anywhere.

We went to the show with my husband and that was fantastic! There were not many people on Sunday evening and we had nice table close to the stage. Dancers and musicians were so professional. After the show we were very pumped up. Highly recommend!

Came for the 6pm show. While the price is considered to be very reasonable, but the food is often served cold and late (like they serve 5 of the 6 main entrees, and the last serving came like 15 mins later). My first time watching...More
