The Tablao de Carmen pays tribute to the great flamenco dancer, Carmen Amaya, born in 1913 in the gypsy quarter of Somorrostro which then existed in what is today Barcelona's Olympic Village. Carmen Amaya made her debut in 1929 before King Alfonso XII on the site which is today the Tablao de Carmen at the inauguration of Poble Espanyol de Montjuic.

Booking in advance via a well known site got a discount that made the dinner/show option worthwhile. Booking in advance also gets you into the Pablo Espanol free (worth 14 e) and it was more picturesque than expected. As others have said, we looked round...More

What a fantastic experience. This is not plastic-tourist flamenco, but the real deal, with passion and temperament. The location is wonderful, and so is the food. Try it!

Grading this place is challenging - one the one hand the dance show was great, and this is the reason people are coming to this Tablao. It's a wonderful experience and a fantastic way to meet for the first time the spanish flamenco dance and...More
