    Need some work
Supposed to be a famous zoo, but we found it smelling like urine throughout the park . Athird of the areas were closed. Upkeep is poor animals areas very small. Could use a new coat of paint abd a good clean.

    A nice day out.
The zoo was bigger than we expected and spent nearly 4 hours here. Unfortunately, there was a lot of maintenance going on at the time and some animals were either not seen or had since been transferred to other zoos but was still labelled on the map. However, the safari section was really good. We booked tickets beforehand so entrance was quick and easy. Pricing was also cheaper online.

    Great city zoo
Good little zoo with much to see and smack bang in the middle of Barcelona. Some of the enclosures were small but for a city zoo, I was very impressed. Plenty of cafes around and toilet facilities, worth the visit.

    REALLY Expensive
This is a nice city zoo, but we were immediately turned off by the prices for admission. Almost 22 Euro per person is absurd. The inside was well maintained and most animals seemed to be well cared for (except the Rhino who looked miserable / had sores). There's a great playground inside the zoo, which I think our kids enjoyed more than the animals.

    A small, 'mixed-bag' of a city zoo - worth a visit
We spent about 3 and a half hours at Barcelona Zoo on a sweltering August day. We had discount vouchers on the entry price from the City Sightseeing Hop-on/off bus which made the admission quite good value. It's a small city zoo and a lot of the enclosures do seem quite outdated but it is clear improvement works are being done. On such a hot afternoon a number of the animals weren't in the outdoor areas of the enclosures to be visible, but that's understandable. We were entertained well enough by orang utans playing with sacks, grumpy tortoises squaring up to each other over the use of a puddle, elephants being hosed down, penguins being penguins and tapirs having a paddle. The bird house was diverting for 15 minutes but the insect house was a disappointment and the reptile house was closed completely. There aren't many shaded areas so on such a hot day it did feel a bit of a chore walking around after a couple of hours. The restaurants were okay but nothing special (they only had sandwiches, salads, burgers or nuggets with chips) and hardly any tables in the shade. The shop was very disappointing. I think at a cooler time of year we would have enjoyed it more but have no regrets about going and hope the improvement work in progress helps the zoo to thrive for years to come.

    Great day out
Visited the zoo as family but not babies or teens, grown up Sister and Mum. Took us ages to get here due to a landslide in a train tunnel so we abandoned a visit to Barcelona for the zoo since we had been stuck on a train for 3 hours at this point. Easy to find from arc de triomph station. Reasonable price to get in due to it's size, I liked the amount of wild litte egrets flying about and several varieties of parakeet! At one point we saw a sacret Ibis wandering about but I'm sure this had escaped the aviary. Good variety of animals with what appear to be good sized enclosures and enrichments. At one point they did close a section of the zoo off due to a problem with a Rhino. It was open again by the time we walked the other way round but we didn't see the Rhino at all. Great zoo in a beautiful park

    Bored animals
Set out over quite an area, Animals seemed well cared for , however alot off the cages needed updating. The animals looked bored and not stimulated. Tigers enclosure especially needed a good upgrade. Won’t be going again

    Barcelona Zoo Visit
A visit to the zoo today was extremely fun! There was a range of animals to see and it was a wonderful experience to see them. Unfortunately many of the cafes within the grounds were closed however the gift shops were open and had some wonderful gift options for all ages. The weather was not the best today with it being cloudy, therefore it may not have seemed as good as it could be. Overall, it was still fun to see the animals especially the Giraffes 🦒

    Good day out
We visited for the day and had a great time. The zoo is really nice and the animal exhibits are really good. The gorilla enclosure is a highlight. The only negative being many of the cafes were closed meaning it can be a struggle on a hot day when your looking for a drink.

Who knew this gem was in the city of Barcelona. Such a well laid out zoo with excellent places to view the animals. Highly recommend a visit.

Much nicer than anticipated, we were offered seniors rate with no proof needed approx €10 we are from canada. Entrance ladies very nice and speak English. Having been to all the great zoos of the world including Singapore, London and San Diego many times this stood up well. Lots of enrichment for the animals, very clean and green plenty of shade. Birds and insects well displayed out feet hurt so we left without seeing fish, dolphins and big cats. Glad I went lots of happy children to watch while we rested

The zoo is bigger than you think and easy to get turned around in, but there are maps throughout to help you. I would recommend downloading the zoo map before arriving though. There are lots of different animals to see, some quite up close. Some were in smaller enclosures than we liked, but I understand that they are undergoing renovations to improve that. We visited on a Sunday afternoon so it was fairly crowded. I would recommend avoiding the weekends if your schedule allows to avoid the bigger crowds. We were there on a very hot day, but there are very few shady places to get a respite from the sun and these were typically filled with people, so you really feel the heat after a while. Unfortunately many of the restaurants and snack areas were also closed, but we found a vending machine to get some water. I strongly recommend bringing in your own water and coming earlier in the day when it would not be as hot.

This zoo is massive. It has all animals I haven’t even seen in person before. It was amazing to see all the different kinds of animals too, only problem was that there were 3 restaurants and only 1 was open. Food was nice as well and it is a good day out.

Sad to see some of the animals in small enclosures. The giraffe deliberately kicked the giant tortoise in the pen with it. That tortoise and the deer in there should be moved. They must be very frightened all the time. Make bigger pens or send the animals elsewhere.

We purchased tickets to the zoo as part of the Barcelona Family Card. We spent about 2-3 hours here as there were so many animals to see. The walking trails were partly paved and partly mud. It had just rained, but didn't ruin our day. The signs were in 3 languages for the most part. Plenty of WC around the park.

Went armed with vouchers from the tour bus. They refused them as they had been torn out of the book as if we needed to first buy a pair of scissors. One voucher had a small part of one corner missing that wasn’t relevant to the validity or usefulness of the voucher at all!

Then both the ticket seller and the person on the gate both completely refused to speak ANY English at all and the latter said ‘Only Spanish’ and told me to go away and turned his back on me.

Eventually got Google translate out to explain my frustration and finally got a lovely English speaking manager to talk to us, but even they said they can’t accept the vouchers.

No other places in the city had an issue with these vouchers being torn out of the book, and everywhere else at least tried to help us in English, even tiny shops. I’m not expecting the entire country to be fluent - I know it is Spain, but for a large tourist attraction that has three languages on its website, one of which is English, to point blank refuse any form of customer service unless I spoke in perfect Spanish, and not even find someone who did speak English to help us, and also to refuse to accept vouchers we’d been given that we’d followed advice on how to use elsewhere… utterly disgraceful and just extremely rude.

Everywhere else in Barcelona was lovely and the city is perhaps my favourite European City. It is lovely. But the zoo can do one.

We simply walked away.

Have also complained to the bus company that they refused their vouchers. Why bother supporting them and advertising them in a booklet if there are unpublished conditions on how they MUST be used. Pathetic.

The enclosures need to be bigger for the animals, but apart from that, going the time of year which we did, it was very quiet, which was a change to the normal hustle and bustle of the zoo.
Good insight to seeing the animals are there was no one there, down side was there wasn’t any big cats in any of the enclosures. But again it might have been too cold for them to be out.

Would definitely go again to see the improvements of the enclosures which they have signs saying there improving

Very poor sized enclosures for some.
Animal husbandry lacking.
Every other exhibit had animals missing.
No cafe facilities available.
Play park cordoned off.
Possibly all down to the timw of year but that ahould be explained before entry or a reduced price offered .
Disappointing 😕.
