Not sure what we were expecting here, but were blown away. The high point is the extensive uncovering of Roman ruins beneath street level. Really a well designed and extensive exhibit of the city when the Romans called it Barcino.

Since we're interested in Roman history we enjoyed this museum. It is underground and has the remains of Roman structures. The remains aren't spectacular compared to other Roman ruins around the Mediterranean but is a part of the city's history and worth a visit. There...More

An impressive museum of the history of Catana and Barcelona, Well planned exhibits from pre-history to modern times. It is situated next to the Maritime Museum and the Barconleta neighbourhood. Worth every penny with reduced rates for seniors (like most of the museums in Barclona).

Thought it was great in the elevator when the little screen showed the dates from 2017 going down underground. Something great to show kids your going back in time. Really interesting museum and cool to see how the romans lived. Really great experience.

This museum, not far from the Cathedral, was one of our favorites. As others have noted, the entry fee is reasonable at 12 euros and includes an audioguide. The expected art and artifacts are well organized and the guide is informative, but the real attraction...More

under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War
with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and
authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be
