This is a huge sight and it is a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas. The area takes time to explore and there are a few options to getting up the mountains and around.

One of my favourite places of the city, if not the best. You can disconnect from the city rush while getting lost between amazing parks, the olímpic stadium or getting to the top to enjoy 360 views from the castle.

Parc de Montjuic is a castle located on Motjuic hill, like 40 mins from center. The best? You have incredible views of Barcelona!

Further out than lots of sights to see in Barcelona, but it is worth the trip! You can take the bus there or go on the cable car, which is lots of fun!

One of Barcelona's top attractions. You can get here on foot or use the cable-car (from the port). I recommend the cable-car, it’s a rather rough climb. Once you get here, head to the castle. You’ll find an electric cable-car, or you can take the...More

The cable car ride is a must and the views from the top are amazing. This is not a museum full of artifacts but the battlements and heavy guns are still there and there are no intrusive safety rails everywhere so care with small children,...More

The views of Barcelona are incredible from atop this fort. There are old cannons and dungeons and history to be taken in. It made us curious to read up on the history and learn more about this beautiful fort!

We took the subway from our apartment near La Sagrada Familia and road the funiclular to the top of Montjuic a short ride from the train station. We first visited the Fundacio Joan Miro, a modern art museum, then walked through some of the gardens...More
