Nice park to walk around, especially around the castle. Get the cable cars up to the castle for amazing views of the city and sea!

This is a lovely thing to do whilst in Barcelona especially if the weather is nice. You can get a cable car up to the too which in itself is fab as the views are great! At the top there is lots to do and places to eat and drink. There is a castle too that you can pay extra... More

I walked through the gardens en route to the National Catalonia Museum from the Miro Foundation. Unlike the rest of the parks, this place was a quiet and peaceful retreat from Holy Week festivities.

We visited here a few times when we were on the Hop on Hop off bus. The park has some beautiful plants and has a tropical feel about it. When you get up to the top there are some amazing views across Barcelona. The cable car also goes from up there and that is a fantastic experience too.

Monjuic has plenty to do and see. You can arrive by the funicular which is a part of you T10 zone 1 travel card. From the station you have the option to walk up the hill or for about 8 euros 1 way you can take the scenic cable cars. These go up to the castle and then also will... More

This patch of outdoors is easily accessible from the centre of Barcelona and quickly changes from the stairs and fountains of the Art Museum to a tree clad hillside (easy to get 'lost' in) with other attractions to stumble on from the Joan Miro Museum to the sadly disused Olympic pool, and topped off by the castle. There are amazing... More

We stopped here on our way from the airport to our hotel. It's a nice park from which it's possible to see the city. Hiking is very nice. We didn't visit the castle since we had not time. There are playground for young kids.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
