Barcelona y Flamenco presents: “Opera y Flamenco” and “Gran Gala Flamenco” In more than 10 years their two principal shows have reached millions of spectators, making them the most seen Flamenco productions in Barcelona. This incredible shows is choreographed by the award winning Rafael Amargo, the most important flamenco artist working today. Opera y Flamenco tells the tormented story of love between the dancers with their souls interpretated by the tenor and soprano. "Gran Gala Flamenco" takes the spectator on a journey by means of the heart of the deepest flamenco. Exciting, with a selection of the most poignant “palos” of flamenco interpretated by the new generation of Catalan artists. Let yourself be captivated by al the intensity and passion of the gypsy people and enjoy the perfect union of strength, music, spirit and dance. we had seen one performance of Flamenco in a restaurant when we first arrived in Spain. We enjoyed that immensely. When we started watching Barcelona y Flamenco I had tears in my eyes for the first few minutes. I realise that this type of dance is an expression of emotion - happy, sad, anger, grief, love, hate. No other form... More

Wonderful, authentic Flamenco opera performance. One of our best experiences in Barcelona. 6 guests attended, ages 85 to 27. Perfect for everyone.

This show has good individual components but it's a slightly cheesy crowd pleaser. The main problem is that in general the sound system in the Palau is not good. Most might not notice but for those who are versed in this, you will be disappointed. In a performance space of this stature, one would expect a much higher quality of... More

The show is as can be expected a tourist show. that said the performance of all musicians and dancers is very good, at least to an unprofessional eye. As is is a collection of musical bits with just a ruff link between them its not very exiting as a whole. I am giving it only 3 stars because the people... More

We had never been to this music hall so when we discovered that Viviv Flamenco was playing we booked tickets on line. It was expensive but worth every penny. The dancer's in particular the lead male (Jesus) was 5 stars. What we found interesting is that the audience was a mixture of locals and tourists which I think shows the... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
