About
Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself. We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct: - Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes. - City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes. - City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes. - Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes. - Taxi to Park Guell

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.

Top 3 things for us in Barcelona. The uniqueness and level of detail is fascinating. Wish we could have spent more time. Make sure you’re well hydrated if visiting in the summer

Very good idea to visit this place. The story of the construction of the park is very interesting. I’ve visited the park a few years ago. This time I visited it with my daughter (teenager). She was very excited. I think that there are several places in Barcelona that must be visited and one of them is Park Güell.

Nothing there to see a big hype for not a lot
How it was built is amazing but that’s it. Go in the morning as it gets very busy in the afternoon and book your tickets on line. If you can’t fit the park in on your trip don’t worry you haven’t missed very much.

A lovely place with such interesting architecture! I think this is a must for a Barcelona visit but it gets very hot here and very crowded so an earlier visit is probably better!

Beautiful green oasis on a hill, but gets extremely crowded. Go early. Beautiful views, but Barcelona skies are often hazy. Great for a small picnic. The combination of nature inspired viaducts and curvilinear buildings is stunning and magical

Parc Guel has changed its policy about the borders. We went to parc guell to find out that there the “free” part is now adjusted.

Park Guell is, in its own right, a very interesting story in Gaudi's attempt at urban planning, and some of the architecture there and layout is quite unique. But you absolutely must print out a map of the park and do all research before you arrive because park staff do not hand out maps or printed guidebooks onsite. Instead, they tell you to scan a QR code to access their online guide. Problem is, their wifi doesn't work, and the cell service in the park is weak to non-existent because of the park's elevated and somewhat remote location in the city.

It's really a shame that a tourist attraction that is this popular, that clearly generates a lot of income from tourist ticket sales, cannot bother to fix this fundamental problem. I witnessed several tourists airing their frustrations - all they wanted to do was to learn about the place like we did.

Very nice, a little crowded but overall good - lots of street peddlers along the whole walking path.

You can not book on the website until the day of the visit. Also you have to book a timed visit which is impractical if you are visiting the Sagrada in the morning as you do not no how long that visit will take. I tried to book online outside the booking office however the internet was so slow I joined the queue and paid at the gate. Once inside we could only find one toilet with a massive queue in the hot sun with no shade. A great venue but poorly run. I hope this helps you improve your service.
