This is our first stop in BCN. I've heard about this place and read about people raving about this market. Jamon, chorizo and tapas everywhere you look. Fresh seafood on display. But be careful when you order. We ordered the grilled seafood for 2pax. It says €60 on the menu but when we got the tab it was €90! That's... More

I have never seen anything like this. Stalls after stalls with the freshest produce - we walked around after buying some ham from a stall called Mas Gourmets (best jamon i have ever tastes!), and walked around stalls selling fresh fruit and veg, more jamon, fish, meat - you name it! Plus there are restaurants where you can sit on... More

When you came in Barcelona you must visit this market and trie a fresh juice and fruit. After that you must visit restaurants inside in market where you can eat local cuisine. This place is one of the most interesting attractions.

Really cool market right off La Rambla that has basically every food you can think of. Lots of pastries and fresh fruit that doesn't cost more than a couple euros. They also have a couple bars and restaurants reasonably priced inside that you can sit around and drink and eat at.

This market is located in a very busy and touristic area of the city. It is very much worth the visit. There are many shops selling fruit, meat and food. It is a very beautiful, colourful and pleasant place. One of the most interesting attractions here are the prices – exorbitant! But it’s a good treat for the eyes.

This market has something for everyone. It is the place to get your fill of tapas. Every imaginable combination of food is here. You can keep coming back for days and not eat everything.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
