The Boqueria is lively, loud, crowded and magnificent! I love walking the stalls and sampling the goods. It may not be the most economical place to purchase oils, meats and goods, but it sure is fun! There are several counter restaurants where you can grab a seat, a glass of Rose' and sample some fabulous Tapas. My favorite is Pinotxo... More

As I love to cook and eat Spanish food this was close to heaven for me. Bought too much ham, sausages, herbs, olive oil etc. Luckily I do not have any means of cool transport home otherwise I would also have gone for some fresh meat. Must see if you are a food lover ! My wife had to drag... More

There are so many good things to eat here, and so many choices of juices to drink. It's amazing! We tried the crepes which were outstanding. We also had cod fish cakes which were delicious. We drank several of the juices and they were so fresh. I recommend the coconut one. It's phenomenal! We also tried the salami and cheese,... More

A must visit in Barcelona - for its architecture, for its variety of fresh produce and of course for a bite to eat. Perfect central location, of course it's incredibly touristy and as such not cheap...but nonetheless a perfect place to stop off for a break from the craziness of the Ramblas

It is crowded just as the rest of Barcelona has been over the years. The smells, the way the food is presented is great for every foto album. Amanda

Absolutely loved walking around this gem of a market just off of Las Ramblas. Well worth walking through the human congestion to see all the marvellous seafood available in this wonderful city. The moment the seafood smell hit my nose, it immediately brought back childhood memories for me. We used to have a local fishmonger down the road from where... More

I went here twice in one day just to buy the fruit. There is lots of it and you can buy cups of sliced fruit for only 1€! I got a few and also had one of the 2€ fruit juices.

We absolutely loved this place. It is super busy and full of life. There are so many stalls it was difficult to decide both what to eat and what to buy. There are many amazing bar restaurants to eat. We had AMAZING razor clams, baby octopus, giant garlic prawns, and jamon and cheese. We had to come back twice to... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
