I am not sure why people travel across the globe and find that they have to visit this. It's just an open air food market. Just like any other open air market in the US or other european cities. The fruit is pretty to take pictures of. But really? If you are into shopping for food, then OK. This place... More

You can find everything from fresh seafood, cured meats, Paella, fruits and juices, chocolates, sorbets to pure sugar rush here. Plan to spend around 2 hours here to try all the different options and don't fill your stomach at just one of the stores. Have what you really want and move to the next store, so you can try different... More

A very rich food market. You can find seafood, pastries, meat and fresh fruit and juice stands. Worth visiting!! Try to come early because some stands close when all their products are sold.

La Boqueria is a place, where you should go early in the morning, when it's not so crowdy with tourists. You should definitely taste the fresh fruit juices, together with some Jamon Serrano.

D spite its size, the market is not easy to find. Locate Place de Boqueria, then look opposite on La Rambla and up 20m and into a lane way. Then it's the full market experience. If dining on tapas. Take a seat but don't be rushed into ordering multiple plates, just one or two at a time. A great Spanish... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
