The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona.

Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste.

A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

We had a wonderful evening on the Poble Sec tour. It was so nice to experience the hospitality and variety that this tour offers. Our guide was amazing and we enjoyed being able to share information and ask questions to get the flavor of our Barcelona experience. We loved being off the tourist trail and really felt like we got... More

On my first trip to Barcelona, I thought it was going to be all about art and architecture—Gaudi, Picasso, Miro, Dali. But on a whim, my wife and I booked a tasting and walking tour with The Barcelona Taste. Wow! Our tastebuds were rewarded! Our love of meeting new people and sharing travel and life experiences was enriched! Our need... More

For me, every meal is an experience. Taste of Barcelona embodies that offering a wonderful sampling of some common but mostly unique local flavors through the tapas tasting (way beyond croquettes) and more importantly, creating the perfect setting to meet new people through the social part of food. I left that evening feeling utterly full of countless Spanish/Catalan morsels and... More

We had a delightful and informative evening with Lorea tonight learning so much about the tapas in Barcelona. Our tapas tour was in Poble Sec which is a nice non-touristy neighborhood. I would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to eat like a local! Thanks Lorea!

The Barcelona Taste Gothic Quarter Tour is really terrific! Our guide Lorea was lovely and interesting, and knowledgeable not just about food but about life and in Barcelona more generally. All the food we ate was awesome, and it was a great help to get a better sense of how and what to order when we want authentic Spanish food.... More

This was a fabulous way to sample the culinary excitement of Barcelona. Tito was a charming host and led us to three destinations that tourists wouldn't usually find, but all within a walk of each other in the central part of the city. We really enjoyed it.

Jo and Laura, our wonderful guides, introduced a group of us to exotic dishes I would never have ordered by myself. Not only were we introduced to mouth watering food but also what's good to drink. This was one of the best things I did in Barcelona as I was there by myself and this felt like an evening out... More

We had a great time on our food tour with The Barcelona Taste. Tito was a great guide and he did a really good job telling us about the various tapas that we ate, often explaining in detail how they are prepared and sharing how his grandmother had made some of them. The food we had was awesome and we... More

The Barcelona Taste was easy to book and easy to communicate. English/Spanish is no problem. Our guide was Jo- she was friendly, easy to talk to and midway into our first tasting she seemed to be a friend we hadn't seen in awhile and were catching up on our lives! Very comfortable. She explained all the dishes we had at... More

My son and I went on the tour with Tito. We spent time at three different restaurants and got a good introduction to Spanish food and Culture. We enjoyed the entire experience.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
