An exceptional collection of Medieval art in the heart of a beautiful city. Get away from over crowded touristy places and discover the real heart of Spain! Some of the statues and artworks are so incredibly beautiful you can image how they would prompt an...More

I'm a serious history nerd, and I came to Valladolid to see where the 1550-1551 Valladolid Debate (on human rights and the treatment of indigenous peoples of the new world) took place. This was the first time and place in the world where universal human...More

It won't be to everybody's taste. The building was to our taste, the sculptures not so but you had to admire the level of crafmanship that went into each piece. A place you must visit if you are in valladolid!

A wonderful museum with a world classic collection in a wonderful building. Inevitably there is a concentration on religion but this does not detract from the artistic excellence.

The building itself is gorgeous! Old palace with beautiful inner yard and painted ceilings in many of the rooms. The religious art didn’t do it for me, but there was also a Baltasar Lobo exhibition which was paired with copies of ancient art and that...More

To my mind this is one of the very best art collections anywhere. Mostly polychrome religious statues and iconography this collection is a delight in an almost equally delightful setting. Well lit and presented it’s a bargain at 3 euros. Closed Mondays.

This is probably one of the best designed museums I've been to... Starting with the middle ages, the museum progresses through time - giving a fascinating perspective as the sculptures change in stature, body, and style through the ages. These are mostly religious figures -...More

You need to be rather interested in sculptures. Impressive but a bit monotonous. About 50 versions of Jesus. Definitely worth a visit.

I loved everything about this museum. The entry ticket is cheap (3 euro) and the audio guide, which I highly recommend, is only an extra 2 euro. The sculptures are beautiful, the building is clean, and photography (sans flash) is permitted. I thought the security...More
