Segovia offers a beautiful, very well maintained medieval town along with top traditional cuisine. Underrated compared to other historical towns near Madrid --like Toledo-- Segovia is worth every minute of the short trip from Madrid (about 55 miles).

There's so many wonderful things to see, from the stunning Alcazar at one end of town and the amazing Aquaduct at the other, with the Cathedral next to the Plaza Mayor in the middle. Quite apart from the major sites, there's a host of historic...More

Not far from Madrid, but stay over if you can. Very easy to walk the whole town, from the Aquaduct to the Alcazar. Check out the tiles on the walls - they are all different.

This was a great place to explore. We walked the streets and enjoyed tapas in a few of the bars. Try walking the whole area, it always seem to come up with new perspectives and surprise views. I highly recommend it.

Segovia is history. Its streets, neighbourhoods and houses are laid out in accordance with a social structure in which hierarchy was organized and dominated by belonging to one of the different cultural communities, Moors, Christians or Jews. Historic structures abound, churches, statues, monuments, the cobbled...More
