Beautiful cathedral dating back to before Columbus discovered America. Impressive artwork. Sit down in the main sanctuary and take a moment to look at the ceiling and paintings. Not as big as the adjacent "New Cathedral" but packed with history. Sometimes there are free concerts given here and in the summertime watch the weddings exit the building on the hour... More

There is a lot to see in here so take your time and enjoy. An audio guide will be very useful to you to explain all that there is to see.

We walked in, paid our €8 each, walked around, thought 'this is nice' and were about to leave thinking 'nice but not much'. Then we went back for a second time around, discovered the old cathedral, and then the cloister and all the additional old chapels and the exhibit rooms. So, the lesson is, go back for a second time... More

The old cathedral took over 150 years to build from 11th century... the master apse houses a large cycle of 53 tableaux, 12 of which by the 15th-century Italian artist Dello Delli, depicting the life of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. A fresco of the Final Judgement is over them. #stunning #unescoworldheritage

One of the few Spanish Cathedrals that Inhave visited that wasn't super-crowded, probably because it was before lunch. It was beautiful and little less ornate than other cathedrals . I thought it was particularly pretty.

You can access the old cathedral from the newer one, and it is included with the admission. Great architecture.

This beautiful Cathedral is worth a visit if you're in Salamanca. The grandeur and magnificence in it's architectural detailing will leave you in awe. It's worth the climb into the bell tower to get a great birds eye view of the city. Magnificent!!

This cathedral is massive and the architectural details are amazing. Stand by the large red front door and have your photo taken and you will see the scale of the building
