One of the most striking buildings in Salamanca. The facade is embellished with architectural shells--emblem of the aristocratic family who used to own the place. The patio and the indoors are accessible by stairs. Not for the handicapped. See the facade at night when all...More

The building is a library, so there’s not much to see in it (there was a photography exposition when I went), but the construction itself is really beautiful. At night they were having music concerts, which was pretty cool!

Because the other reviewers got much better pictures than I did. But well done them. It is on the route from the square to the University and the cathedral and well worth a short visit.

Rather different outer stone work - the shells are rather stone scallops carving. Not what I was expecting . This is only 5 minutes walk from the cathedrals. Worth a look at . I did not go inside as a sign indicated it was a...More

Unique children art at the moment. It is an historic building and it is a free admission. You can take good pictures from upstairs.

As it's a public library, there isn't much more than seeing the outside and inner courtyard. It's free which is nice and it's a nice walk around the inside. The architecture is interesting and it has a view of the cathedral!

I'm a librarian, so I always enjoy visiting libraries when we travel. The architecture is interesting. As it's in the central tourist area, worth a stop in, even if libraries aren't your thing.

This seems to be a free to enter attraction which has a lovely upper balcony surrounding an inner courtyard. The upper level actually lets you get a good view of the church towers across the narrow street. The external surface looks like it is covered...More

Now housing the local library - its inner courtyard is beautiful, and of course the exterior is very unusual with the conch shells all over it - it is of course on the Santiago route - hence the shells.
