Was worth the walk to see this museum and learn about El Greco. Its very quiet inside but a wonderful atmosphere for those wanting to soak it all up. Its a great place to get out of the sun as well.

Note that this museum opens at 09:30 hr. I was early and had to wait for 10 mins. Entrance ticket is €4 included audio headset. I needed to leave my backpack at locker, requiring 1 euro deposit. The main exhibit hall is at ground level,...More

The El Greco Museum was closed so we were disappointed. Not for long however, as we made our way to the Santa Cruz Museum. An imposing building pock marked with bullet holes from the Spanish Civil War. Took some pics of those! The staff is...More

The El Greco paintings are good. And don't miss the patio. It is a very nice place to relax after walking the Toledo streets....

So close to the town centre that you just cannot miss this museum. A superb collection of every day items and wonderful paintings of of the people that would have used them.

Hidden behind Plaza de Zocodover (thru the arch, down the steps, pass the statue of Cervantes, continue straight 1/2 block, look to your left) This is an exceptionally beautiful museum. For not big fans of museums this is the one for you to visit. Take...More

Big spaces. The Grecos are worth the trip. They also have some temp exhibits upstairs. It is free on Wednesday evenings so we went back just to see the Grecos again.

I started out confused about what was in this museum. The main area has a lot of art, much of it religious. I did not realize that it had such well known paintings. The cloister was lovely though the archeological bits and pieces were not...More

This building has expansive ground floor exhibits and vaulted ceilings. We did have to use stairs to visit some secondary displays but the good stuff was at ground level.
