First sight of the old town was the majesty of this ancient gate now welcoming tourists but in the past being a security feature for this walled city.

One of Toledo's beautiful gates. Pass through the gate and walk up the winding hillside road for panoramic views.

You will more than likly see this as you travel into the city. If on the Vision train you will see it and drive around it. It is well worth taking a detour otherwise to see it.

This is one od the formal entrance points to the walled city. The visit only lasts a few minutes; however, we saw a light and sound show at night, the door is used as the projector screen, very nice.

What a magnificent day trip. The narrow streets, great architectural buildings, historical facts and fort made this a very memorable trip. The wall and views from the top where breathtaking.

Toledo is a great city for a day trip from Madrid. Get there early before the crowds and tour around for a few hours. Get a great lunch and hop on the train back to Madrid!

This Moorish accented gate was the main access to the old town and was heavily fortified. There is a monument to Charles V, who completed its construction although it was in operation before his time. Rare opportunity to immerse by ourself in the past.
