Our guide stopped the bus at Mirrador del Valle before our group entered the old town. It is a great overlook of Toledo and is very picturesque. If it’s convenient for you to get there, it is definitely worth stopping there for the view.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 January 2024
- Vad A.Maryland112 contributionsCompletes the great impression of ToledoFor us Mirador del Valle was a very nice beginning of the daytrip to Toledo from Madrid. The bus shuttle stop is right at the Alcazar, and the ticket stand is right there too. On the way to the Mirador one can see how the whole town was fortified from outside: the medieval gates, towers and the bridge. At the Mirador del Valle one can see the whole town in front from above (as it was 500 years ago, almost!) and it looks so enticing that makes you want to come in and explore. Beautiful photos from the bus with the town, the river and the valley.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 August 2024

Before the start of the Spanish Madrid self-service trip, a photo of the medieval old city across the river, let's decide that we must come to Torres to take a photo, it is absolutely not necessary to repaint, each photo is like a postcard landscape! And the best location for taking photos is here.
Toledo Castle Alcázar de Toledo is located at the highest point, from the St. Martin Bridge to the other side of the Puente de San Martín is a Recommendation highlight of the old city, across the Tagus River to see the medieval arch is beautiful, if you also like the old stone walls, come to a trip to the Torneo!
We chose to participate in the local IBE Tours, taking a touring car about an hour from Madrid.

Toledo has several exceptional viewpoints, some from the historic center towards the Tagus and surrounding areas and others from those points towards the city, each more beautiful. This belongs to the second group and we have arrived on a tourist train. It should be visited in any way, it is impressive.

Beautiful viewpoint to see the historical part of the city with a view of the Tagus river. You can see all the main monuments of the city and click some nice shots too. You can walk or drive there as there is ample parking space.

Gets crowded at sunset, but still worth seeing if you find a parking spot. Cannot see the sun go down, but watch the sky change and the colors of the building change with the evening.
Can visit anytime with a car.

In Toledo, there was not that much to do. Our tour group just went to a sword shop . We actually saw a blacksmith make a sword. The swords were beautiful. Some of them made of gold. A little pricey for the swords. Plus, you can not take a sword on a plane back home. Unless, you ship it. Thats a fortune by itself.
Unless you have friends in Toledo, you can probably find the best restaurants. Our tour was only time allotted for a couple of hours. I am not sure if Toledo has bull fights. Try the oxtail if you do go to a restaurant. Its delicious!

A must see place when in Toledo, the views are amazing! Please do not miss it. By car from the city center it was just 5 minute. We saw that there is also a bus or the possibility of going on foot which would take around 30 minutes.

Pretty sweet view but it's a big shame that the only bus that goes there only runs once per hour. Once you get there you have to wait an hour to go back or waste a lot of time on a long walk up and down the hills. Not acceptable in such a popular tourist spot.

If you are thinking of visiting this area of Spain, make sure that Toledo is on your list. It is a magnificent city of the world, with beautiful walks and one of the best sunsets ever!! We stayed for two nights, only really having one full day there to experience the sights. Highly recommended!!!!

Can one drive to it? Is there a car park?
Written 27 August 2019
There is a turn out area and room for cars to park. Most of the area though is for the public bus.

Would there be taxis available around the Mirador? Thinking about taking a taxi to the overlook and walk around a little bit. I am concerned how to go back to to the city from there.
Written 10 July 2019
We took a taxi from the train station to Mirador and he waited for us (7 or 8 minutes) at Mirador del Valle while we took pictures. We then proceeded to the St. Martin Bridge to begin our trip into the city. You are right that it would be unlikely to find a taxi at the viewing point. One other thing - the cabbies want to take you to the big Yadro store. You can find that on your own if that’s where you want to go.

Visiting Toledo next week. Is there a bus from Santo Tome Area to the Mirador?
Written 18 May 2019
There is a bus that runs the loop around the city. But a cab ride was only 7 or 8 Euro. And they will wait for you. The bus pulls away and you wait an hour for the next bus...
