We visited about 45 minutes before this 'Mezquita' was to close for lunch. Note, it's also known as Cristo de la Luz mosque; often best to avoid literal translations. It was a hot July afternoon, and the overheated admissions clerk (two stars) was somewhat erratic...More

Originally a mosque, converted into a church some 200 years later, this is an endlessly fascinating site. The nave has a wealth of architectural detail, as well as an extraordinary 12th century fresco. There's also a fragment of a Roman road, preserved under a glass...More

This is indeed a gem as it is an intriguing mix of cultures, tucked away and without the coachloads of other tourists. Well worth an exploratory stroll to reach it, and a visit which costs little in € and in time.. How can people complain...More

The history of this 1,000 year old building is well chronicled, starting as a mosque before being transformed into a church 2 centuries later. There’s a lot of details in the nave construction, be sure to look up. An be sure to look down as...More

It's absolutely essential to use the (free) audio guide for this monument. If you don't, it's just a pretty building with a lovely garden.......and you'll be out in ten minutes. The guide brings it alive and provides so much detail and information.....possibly too much for...More

This place is so inexpensive to visit (and I think there's a pass with other sights too) that it's definitely worth a visit. There's not much to see, but as someone who loves history that made it worth the visit. This was originally a mosque...More

€2.80 will get you into this beautiful little mosque/church. The original building was a small mosque with the apse being added by the christians centuries later. Lovely views from the gardens too.

you enter by crossing the remains of an old roman road, once inside the original part of the building which was a mosque is distinctive, there are lots of christian elements from when this was converted to a church.

This small building reflects so much of what used to be - different religions and cultures getting on with each other. A miniature of the Great Mosque in Cordoba in some ways. Donations rather than an entrance fee would attract more people.

Small but interesting footnote in the history of Toledo. In and out in less than 15 minutes. This type of buildings should be open with a free admission instead of charging nearly 3 €.
