We walked through this entry gate many times in our two day stay in Toledo. It is near most of the other sights and is a great vantage point for photos as well as being a striking piece of architecture.

Another gate I a magnificent place. It is hard to judge each gate but they are impressive each and every one. You. Need your walking shoes on and no prams as they just wouldn't go.

Most of the tourists pass next to it but never see it! It's just under the Mezquita Cristo de la Luz

This Moorish influenced guard tower, and still operating iron gate formed the main entry to Toledo. As such, the entry needed to be controlled and that was the role of Puerta del Sol. One can only imagine the streams of visitors over the centuries, and under what circumstances access was denied

A very photogenic fortified gateway - worth the walk, especially past the oldest (and only standing) mosque in Toledo.Unfortunately we were there before opening time, and as we were part oif a tour, time did not permit us to revisit. Next time!

You can get a close up view of the upper part of this majestic gate from the gardens of the Cristo de la Luz mosque, which overlooks it. It is close to Valmardon gate and is well worth the time exploring.

The iron gate that lifts up into the tower still works and is hanging from above. It's interesting to think about all the people that must have passed through (or been killed at the gate during siege) over the past thousand years.

We were standing and watching on this piece of architecture for quite a while, it's so beautiful in the daylight.

Built under the Mudejar style. Medium size, not too big. Very well conserved. Located on the way to Alcazar.
